This novel provided a nice look into New York City during a historic time of change. Thompson pens crisp and clear sentences that provided vivid imagery in my mind as I read.
Having not been born at the time of the late 60s, it was nice to read a firsthand account of someone who did experience that time in New York City during the race riots. It shows how far America has come in healing the past's wounds.
Today, only the fake news and Dark Forces' created movies and shows report and depict racial tension because that is what they want people to believe. But most of humanity is being such a simple thing as racism.
