Silent Addiction 11/30/2020 7:25:26 PM
Women are natural nurturers and always want to fix things, including people. The hardest person to try to "fix" is an addict because they can't be fixed unless they want to do so.
As you follow Silent Addiction and discover the big secret, Madison tries to get Blake to seek help not realizing that the addict has to want to change and seek assistance. You cannot fix someone that doesn't want to be saved. As you go through the psychological aspects of Blake and his addiction and the impact on Madison as the enabler, you ask yourself, "How would I deal with it or could I".
Hopefully, you have your faith or a good friend to talk to that will help get you through this tough time. Although, there is only so much complaining you do before your friends, no matter how close, get tired of hearing the same thing over and over. At some point, you will get tired of doing the same thing over and over because isn't that the definition of insanity -- doing the same thing over and expecting different results.
May you have the courage to change what you can, accept what you can't change and the wisdom to know the difference. The Serenity Prayer will become your new mantra. Think about which direction you want to go.
