Finding ones way in the indie publishing business is at best precarious if not nearly impossible, and maintain a writing schedule as well. So many writers turn to publishers that take less time than maintaining a website or blog. The thing with that is your work, when put into other sites generally gets lost in the craze and maze of thousands of others.
Building a blog or website is the best in the long run, building your own following one reader at a time.
But it never hurts to use third party publishers to draw attention to your own site. Provided they offer ample opportunity to do so. Most don't. Most want your work but want it for free and publish your work on the oldest con on the books; It'll be good exposure.
I hardly ever works that way.
So if you want to build your own following build your own site and put all your efforts helping yourself, not someone elses site.
I am working on this, A new Webblog. https://talesbydonaldharryroberts.blogspot.com/2021/03/home-page.html.
