Blogs by Carol M Tetlow Let sleeping dogs lie 8/7/2022 5:44:45 AMDuring the week I went round to a friend's house (to admire as she had moved since I'd last seen her and yes, it was very lovely) for coffee. The two dogs greeted me like a long lost friend. As it was a hot, summery day, I'd got my flipflops on and perched on a high stool by the island in the centre of the kitchen, heard them flipflop off my feet and land on the floor. I gave it no more thought. I mean, why would I? Unbeknown to me a silent robber, slipped away with one of them while we were chatting and returned after an unspecified length of time, only to present me with half a flipflop! The perils of having a year old labrador! My labs have got past that stage and I'd completely forgotten what they used to be like. My friend was mortified, the dog delighted and I couldn't stop laughing. Fortunately they were old sandals, already falling apart a bit but a pair I've been loathe to part with for comfort reasons. Chewed and eaten beyond repair - literally half the sandal was missing, they are definitely in the bin now.
