After 200 years, Bald Eagles appear.

In Hudson County New Jersey, Bald Eagles appear and residents go crazy, rushing out to see them with their own eyes!
Hudson County New Jersey is a peninsula. It has New York Harbor to the east and Newark Bay to the west with a narrow short "kill," as the Dutch used to call this waterway, now referred to as the Kill Van Kull which connects the two bays.
Two-hundred years ago, this estuary had plenty of wildlife. Whales in NY Harbor, Osprey catching sturgeon (fish) in Newark Bay. Bald Eagles sat in their large nests at the tops of giant American Sycamore trees along the shoreline.
The industrial age in New Jersey demolished the forests and polluted the rivers and bays. When industry moved on in the 1980s, the water and air improved. Fish and birds returned to the estuary.
Then one day an old man who loved to watch birds saw these two big black and white winged creatures land on an old buoy in an inlet where some cruise ships were docked. He lifted his binoculars and saw the white heads and tails. These birds could be identified as nothing more than American BALD EAGLES. His heart nearly stopped. He picked up his I-phone and let all his birding friends know. Within an hour 24 bird watchers came to his side to see a bird that had not been seen in that location in two centuries!
