Hashing out intro for a speech. Need comments from YOU!
I'm giving a speech later this month to a Delaware audience about the need to not only preserve, but to transmit, our culture, heritage and traditions to future generations. If we are distracted from doing so, the potential for hostile foreigners overwhelming us rises exponentially. I plan to open the speech with a back & forth conversation between an older person and a younger person. Here's that intro (so far):

1) So what are you studying in history this fall? Are you learning anything about Caesar Rodney’s famous ride?

Nah, history's kinda on the back burner, ya know? It's all about STEM vibes now. Oh, BTW, just peeped this TikTok where .killinit plugged these fire kicks – I'm lowkey obsessed. Gotta bounce!

2) We got a flyer in the mailbox from a new restaurant that serves Iskranian food. Never heard of it. Have you?

Wait, Iskranian food? Sounds kinda different, but I'm down to try it. We could just DoorDash it and see what's up. But, hey, can we chat about this later? I'm super focused on trading Bitcoin right now.

3) How strange. I went to the local dry cleaner the other day and the clerk had a funny accent. Sounded a lot like what I heard from that Iskranian Door Dash delivery guy.

Oh, for real? I mean, the world's full of all sorts of accents, Dad. Gotta love the diversity, right? But yo, I gotta pause on this convo – I'm right in the middle of dropping a fresh vid on Insta.

4) I saw the Methodist church put up a new sign last Sunday. They’ve changed the name to the AIM Church. In small letters below it read American Iskranian Methodist Church. There seem to be a lot of new members from that country.

Mom, honestly, I'm not too fussed about what the church is doing. I mean, spirituality's more my own vibe, you know? If I ever need some uplifting or deep talks, there's like a ton of spiritual advisors on YouTube I can tune into.

5) How odd that they named that new private school AI Academy. I thought it had something to do with teaching artificial intelligence, but Mrs. Smith next door said it stood for American Iskranian Academy.

Oh, uh-huh, AI Academy, cool... But hey, Grandpa, can we talk about this later? I'm right in the middle of this intense Roblox game and gotta focus. Catch up later?

6) That new senator of ours has an unusual last name. I think she might be Iskranian.

Really, Grandma? A senator with an Iskranian name? That's kind interesting. Sorry, gotta jet - I'm in the middle of binge-watching this awesome show on Hulu. It's super engaging!

7) Can you imagine? The paper says from now on Independence Day is only going to be called Fourth of July, to make it easier for people not to have to remember two different terms. Down on the mall the Glorious Iskranian Band is going to be playing during the fireworks.

Really? Just Fourth of July now? Weird. Oh, and that band thing is dope. But yo, Dad, I gotta handle something on Reddit real quick. It's kinda heated. Catch you later!

8) Summer used to be so much fun at the crab feasts down at the fire hall! This new administration has also cancelled Dover Days, the Apple Scrapple festival and the Sea Witch festival this year. Something about the need to maintain public safety and the danger of large crowds. How disappointing!

Ah, that's a bummer about the festivals, Mom. But hey, safety first, right? Oh, speaking of summer, I just found this cute top on Shein I need to grab before it sells out. Gotta do this now, but we can totally chat more about the festivals later!

9) Why on earth would the governor tell us we can’t wear blue and gold together in public, or say the word Dogfish, or read anything written in Colonial script? It just makes no sense!

Governor's rules are out there, huh? Blue and gold bans, no 'Dogfish', and Colonial script? That's wild. Gotta bounce now, Grandpa – this Minecraft tournament isn't going to play itself. We'll catch up soon!

10) Yo, Dad, what's up with our Wi-Fi? It's like totally dead. Can't even hop online right now.

Put your phone down, son. Slowly. This man with the gun is taking us somewhere.
