How about reading, writing and arithmatic. Throw in some science and composition. And encourage them to read books.

I spent four years earning a engineering degree and used very little of the knowledge when I started working as an engineer. Colleges need to delete some of the ciricula and shorten a BS and BA to three years.

Hey, children aren't so innocent these days. We can thank the computer and the NET for this. I knew plenty about many things when I was eight and that was 1938. They didn't teach about the birds and bees but we learned by listening. I think only one girl got pregnant at Vidalia High when I attended. Girls kept their legs together back then. What are they teaching our children in schools these days? Look at the wonderful results. We’ve replaced God, patriotism and personal responsibility with Sex and special rights. Fatherless children, homosexually…. Well these are all things that are part of modern life and kids should learn about accepting and tolerating them. Murder and crime are also part modern day life. How about “Bbring a crook to school day“, that would fit in. I’m afraid kids are not being are taught how to think only what to think. It doesn’t matter though. Computers do the thinking, the government and the media will tell them which buttons to press.
