"Terms Used for Christians"

Thank you Cynthia and Lynette for your responses. I posted this question because some people today prefer not to be called Christians because many people are really not living the Christian lifestyle. I, myself, now prefer to be caller a believer or follower of Christ.

The Apostle Paul called the first believers "saints" (Ephesus and Philippi)
so we sometimes call ourselves SAINTS.
No need for canonization.

We're also called "Ambassadors of the Gospel" of Jesus Christ. Great term.

This may be an overly simplistic answer to your question, yet valid nonetheless. Christians call themselves Christians because we are followers--and believers--in Jesus Christ. Hence the other term you asked about--Believers.
