Thank you for your comments, I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one that feels this way about the abuse of prescription drugs in America.

Florida has put a limit on such perscriptions by requiring a new written script each month. There are no automatic refills as there are in some other states. I know texas allows two refills before requiring you see the doctor again. Having severe arthritis and fibromyalgia I often need pain meds, but I take them sparingly and only when I can't stand the pain any longer. However, I know many people who pop them like they were candy.

You are so right to post this blog about medications abuse! Even ordinary cough syrups can cause drug induced dependency and some addicts use it as substitute for more expensive drugs, primarily because it is easy to get. Medications when abused cause irreversible brain damage
Very informative, we need this.
