I don't like artificial--anything. Apparently, your son doesn't either.
To be honest though, I gave in to a plastic tree last year because it was less labor intensive than the 'real' ones we used to get when our kids were small. Our girls are busy and so are we, so the plastic tree with built-in bulbs works just fine. I do wonder sometimes if we (as a family) may be allowing the 'urgent' to take presedent over the 'important' in our choice of a tree, etc. etc. etc.

Lots to think about in this Christmas story. Well done.

Yep, it may have been scrawny, but Charlie Brown's tree was best, always!!! Interesting trivia: We have the Christmas tree AKA the Tree of Lights. Jews have Hanukkah AKA the Festival of Lights. Likely no connection, but an interesting coincidence.

This story is priceless! I do recall those aluminum trees...they were the rage...very sophisticated to own...with that silly wheel going turning the glow from blue to pink to green... We sure went thru alot of Christmas tree phases...:-)) Kids know best tho!! What a lovely memory... hugs, lindalaw

What a wonderful memory of two great trees. My parents had one after I was grown. It was pretty but not like a real tree. Thank you for sharing Marcia, I totally enjoyed your memoir. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Love and hugs, Bonnie
