My prayers are including your mom-in-law.
About literary technics learned, as I said before, you are genuine and sound genuine so, if ain't broken...don't fix it!
You have that special talent that shouldn't be spoiled by including others "quality", develop your stile, nurture it, hune sharp the edges and numb the end of the thorns, but be, always, Larry Lounsbury, the author.

As a King fan for many years all the way back to some of his first writes, I can agree with you 100%. I also think that the reason his books are so entertaining is that for all of the unreality that he writes their is still a sense of reality or that this could happen. Hope you mother in law is doing better.
