I removed my comment since it was a novel that embarrassed me...Sorry. Just keep writing Karla and let this other BS go.. None of us can read every person we like and review, as they can't read and review every piece we write... We just do our best. Popularity is for high school or running for office...we aren't either... so.. just hang in there. hugs, lindalaw

I agree more or less with Linda L. What i think we need to concentrate on is improving our writing (accepting it as a given that there is always room for improvement, even for the Grishams and Clancys)plus getting published as much as possible, in as many places as possible (for more readers), and, if we ever get the chance, earning something. Those things are enough to concentrate on. There's no room for petty popularity contests or "pen races" to see who gets the most what...
Everyone loves you and your writings. Don't deny them their pleasures, although silent ones at times.

Don't sweat it Karla, I get sometimes over a hundred hits and only 8-12 reviews. I figure as long as people are reading, that is good enough. BTW Dr. Alexander's poem at the inaguration sucked.

I wish I knew what to do, but I don't. I try not to review new poems by new people, for fear they'll hit mine. And they usually do, which bothers me to no end! I would love to have 107 reviews on a story of mine; I'd feel like I'd be sitting on top of the world! I am sorry you are not getting the reviews which I think you rightfully deserve; that's not fair at all, to me OR to you!

I would love to remove all of my poems, but if I do, I'll have broken links; don't want that to happen. Yet as long as they're there, they're going to keep getting reviewed, much to our chagrin. I want to do that so bad!! Maybe if I did, the reviews on my poetry would stop! :P

Please don't stop writing or sharing your talents; you are needed here, and the den would be a much sadder place without the StormSpinner weaving her magic!

I'm afraid the Den is turning into a popularity contest ("let's see who can get the most reviews"); certain ones (me, included) get 50+ per poem while others are lucky IF they get more than five, ten, fifteen, twenty per poem. That's not fair to those who work so hard at what they do; it only ends up making them feel inadequate as writers.

I feel the same way about my stories as you do about your poetry.

The lack of reviews on my stories is downright discouraging. I work so hard at what I do, yet I don't get the reviews/the attention I feel my stories deserve. I may be stuck in a rut in terms of topics (disability issues), but this is something you know I'm very passionate about; I feel it needs to be said, written, out there!!

I hope this makes sense, because I'm left feeling more confused than ever! Just don't stop writing! I love you!

Hey Karla it dropped off tremendously, I get so many hits too and when I used to get 20-25 hits I now get 10-15...for awhile I was so disappointed it affected my writing and I got writer's block. I now block out caring. I write because I love it, sure I love the reviews but I can't let that get to me. Love and hugs, Bonnie

Who's gettin 50 reviews??!! I want their names, young lady! I often get over a 100 'hits,' but I think we are all extremely fortunate if we get 10-15 reviews.

I now delete all 'hits' every day, and go happily on my way!
