84 and 89 Reads, 13 Reviews on Last Two Poems? 1/21/2009 5:45:11 AM
What am I doing wrong? I pay good money, money I can ill afford, to be a member of Author's Den.
I have 134 (as of this writing) trackers. For those who have tracked, thank you. I appreciate it.
Know you have your own lives, but the goal of every author is to be read. And I am, being read.
Herein lies the problem.
When those who read don't take the time to let me know what they did or did not like in what I've written, it hurts.
Take my last two poems: "Sick.Bed" and "American Dreams": 84 and 89 reads, respectively, 13 reviews?!? (Again, that's of this writing.)
What am I doing wrong?
Conversely, my twin sister got another review on her "Stressed Out!" poem: up to 107 now.
She does not write poetry anymore, thanks to my jealousy. She doesn't like the way she writes poems, and every new review on her poetry is a slap in the face to her stories.
To me.
Others here consistantly get 50 or more PER POEM.
JUST ONCE I'd like to have that many on something I've written.
If I complain, I'm told to shut up, don't worry about it. I'm sorry, but I do worry about it. Why can others complain, not get jumped on? I complain, am told to shut up.
Karen and I get into arguments over this: I yelled at her again this morning. She told me she got another review; I looked at mine, 13. Went to Page Stats and saw how many have read, and 13 damn reviews?
She told me to stop whining. If I didn't like it, stop writing.
I told her she has nothing to worry about, when she keeps getting comments on her poems, when all she wants is people to read her stories.
May have to do that. Stop writing if something doesn't change.
