There Is Nothing I Can Say (CHALLENGE)

I challenge all Author's Denners to write a poem about
September 11, 2001, as the second anniversary is ap-
proaching.
Let us take a moment to pause...reflect...and remember
someone lost on that day.
I choose to remember JOYCE ANN CARPENETO, 40, who was
a computer programmer for General Telecom, on the 83rd
floor, Tower One (North).
This is my poem:
"There Is Nothing I Can Say"
There is nothing I can say
That will ease your mind, your grief
No, I can't change what happened
No words that will bring relief...
There is nothing I can say
To assuage your broken heart
No I just saw the horror
As it ripped our world apart...
There is nothing I can say
I wasn't right there with you
No, I don't know how you felt
But I saw the darkened skies...
There is nothing I can say
As I see tears on your face
No, I don't know what loss is
But I see the empty space...
There is nothing I can say
I can't imagine your pain
No, it's okay...I'll listen
To your stories, once again...
There is nothing I can say
There is nothing I can do
Know you're in my thoughts, my prayers
Will you take a hug or two??
