as Shakespeare so eloquently put it, "the good men do is oft interred with their bones, while the evil lives on forever" -- I believe that the Congress of the United States is entitled to far more of the credit for what has transpired in America during the last eight years than Bush -- he has been their scapegoat -- including the scapegoat of our new president -- four years will tell what the twisted rhetoric has failed to reveal -- an excellent point you have made Becca - as an Independent, the party matters not to me, the divisive rhetoric and the dirty deeds are all that I have seen from D.C. during the last eight years -- the majority, from the halls of Congress -- much joy, peace and love to you my friend -- JMW

As a Canadian who has been watching this as an unbiased person, I was also a little embarrassed for your country. It was a shame that on the day that most of the citizens and indeed half the world were cheering in a new hope for the future that so many could show such disrespect for the man who was their leader for two terms. You are also right in stating that he cannot be held responsible for all the worlds wrongs...he answers not only to the people but to the Congress if I am not mistaken so why aren't they booing them. I am glad you recognized this for I thought I was the only one.

Maybe just maybe if Bush would have had a congress it might have been different. I think he's a good man who made some mistakes (which president hasn't) but not for everything they're throwing at him. Well done and very well written Rebecca, Love and hugs, Bonnie

Powerfully penned, Rebecca. Much thought goes into your lines. No, I didn't always agree with Bush; I will not always agree with Obama. But I'm not going to smear them. They're in high office.

Just wish the political rhetoric and fancy speeches would go away. Tell me, in words I can understand, what you need and what we can do to help you help us, Mr. President.

Wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
