Being a good writer means writing all the unecessary things that don't apply to anything at all. Just write and write until you get something worth holding onto. This is how I've done it. I take my thoughts, whether words or phrases, write them down the way I think them...and go from there. Good writers are from habit and practice....good writers eventually become excellent writers....the grammer, the editing, the spelling...the common sense...all comes from years of experience. To write, to think, to jot it all down...is definitely a form of repetitive habit. Writer's block is a form of perfection...to end this, take a piece of paper, write every word that pops in your head, silly, stupid, words that aren't even real words...and begin to connect them. Frances, you are wise...
