Hi Randall.

Yes, we Georgians did grow up well versed in the Bible. Oh, I fondly recall the all-day revivals, dinners-on-the-ground, singing lead soprano in the choir, and baptisms in Dog River.

Indeed, Jesus said, "And the poor ye will have with ye always." However, I really do not think that means that those of us who have more should not share, for didn't Jesus also say, "In so much as ye have done it unto the least one of one of these, ye have done it unto me." (Yes, we Georgians really can quote the Scriptures, can't we?)

Thank you for the compliment. However, the new Erma Bombeck? Only in my dreams, Randall, only in my dreams. :-)

You got a lot of your biblical facts straight, that's for sure. We Georgians grew up well-versed, rather, did we not? Of course, Proverbs turns around and says the lazy man will always be in NEED, so, that alone tells us we need to toil till the end of a day. One of the problems with each according to her/his need, as we all know, is who decides that need? Who distinguishes need from mere "want or desire?" That's why they said "truly needy" in the Reagan-Davis administration, isn't it? Your writing gets better and better. You are headed for millions! New Erma Bombeckish author?
