Back in 1967, my girlfriend, who got her nursing degree after five years of study at the University of Saskatchewan, worked in the same cardiac unit at Stanford Hospital where the heart transplant procedure was being developed. She was stressed by having her shift changed often, giving her sleep problems.
Your blog (article) just reflects the creeping shifting of job titles from lower to higher without credentialing or experience to get higher pay. Making money more important than service. I have hired caregivers for me for 29 years. Lately I've had trouble finding any that would even do the work, let alone the reasonable wage I offer. I would hate to think of some of them delivering medical care for me. Fortunately, the fourth caregiver I hired has stayed with me through thick or thin and is now my partner for life and I'm so grateful for her, without any training but a great work ethic and big heart.
