Nurse Practitioners and physician assistants without supervision will kill people. I totally understand why people love nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Physicians are overall arrogant, distant, greedy, and are represented by The American Medical Association which has for years put their interests above the patients.
Both Nurse Practitioners and physician assistants at one time stood above other profession in certain respects.
Physician assistants in the old days did not try to compete with physicians. Today they do.
First by changing the professions name from physician assistant to physician associate they are misleading the public into thinking the two are equal.
Second, the new monster physician associates are trying to get the right to practice independently of physicians. In North Dakota, they already have that right.
The horrible evolution of physician assistants from caring professionals to dangerous competitors has not gone unnoticed abroad.
British Columbia which is a province of Canada forbids physician assistants from even seeing patients. In Australia physicians forced a university to stop training physician assistants.
The nursing profession also has blood on its hands. Pardon the pun.
In the old days nursing schools were mostly part of established universities and clearly identified as different from physicians.
Today many very bad fly by night for profit vultures have started putting out dangerous unqualified nurse practitioners.
Organized nursing designed a Weapon of Mass Destruction called The Doctor of Nursing Practice. The idea is to wipe doctors and physicians assistants off the map by confusing the public.
If thats not bad enough, organized nursing has very aggressively lobbied state legislatures for more independence while undermining other professions.
For example organized nursing through disinformation and propaganda made it impossible for anesthesiology assistants to even see patients in many states.
The media's total indifference toward incompetent mid-levels will kill people but by then it will be too late.
Mountain State University was so bad accreditors shut down the entire university leaving physician assistant students with credits that couldn't transfer.
The University of St.Augustine tricked students into believing that they had permission to start a program for orthopedic physician assistants but they didnt have any permission and students sued. instead of physician assistants they ended up qualified as medical assistants.
The College of St.Joseph bet the entire endowment on proposed PA program that never materialized and the school went broke.
The PA profession should not allow tiny colleges to bet the entire endowment on a pipe dream. Why didnt the profession stop The University of Augustine from ever enrolling students in an unaccredited program?
The media needs to expose this danger to the public before people die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
