Dear Lois,
I'm so glad to hear that you were moved by this short piece. My daughter is cancer-free for her third year now. We just had a cancer scare with another daughter, but all is well, thank God. I don't think I could bear losing another child. That story is in a memoir called . . .AND THE WHIPPOORWILL SANG

So sorry to hear about your daughter and the cancer. She is in God's hands and will be ok. You needed to relax for once and the pool was a great place to contemplate things and get right with God. I envy you as I love to swim and don't have a pool available now gettng into Fall. A summer day reached my heart this evening.
