A SUMMER DAY
It was a sweltering day. As I walked in the door from a gruelling day at work, I craved a nap. Forcing myself to change into a swimsuit, I headed out to my swimming pol to do pool exercises. As I walked around the oval-shaped pool, l talked to God, a habit dropped by the wayside over the passing years.
We spoke of many things, at least I did as He listened. Most were healing requests for my daughter suffering with cancer and very sick from the chemotherapy and radiation, later, just comfortable conversation. Then as I did swimercises, I prayed for others needed help and healing. The water was tepid, but cool enough to blunt the intensity of the blistering heat and humidity. I stayed in the pool a full hour, the last few minutes lying in the innertube admiring the colors of the sunset, realizing the glory of the Creator in the majestic panorama of the sky. I left the pool refreshed and relaxed. It was a time in my life when my soul was in tune with its Maker and I thought that the meeting went well.
