An author/friend of mine sent and signed a contract with a Literary agency. AFTER she signed, they told her she had to pay for this and that and the list grew each day..she did NOT pay for anything...so guess what? They are now holding her book hostage for the next 6 months...After checking with an attorney, she found out she can market it elsewhere but NOT with another agent..so she is off chasing publishers...in the menatime, her spam box is full of offers for her to pay and pay and pay...so be careful what YOU sign!

The same here. I was asked to send my book to an agent but before I did, I checked out the agency online and found her to be a croooookkkkkk. Her name was mud and I returned her call and told her that I would not send any more of my book but she could return the first three chapters I had sent her. Everyone wants writers to pay all the way but they want to get credit for what? Everything
