You are correct in this topic Mileah...altho, I admit...everything seems to be "not politically correct" these days! I believe Patricia brings up some valid points as well; and we all have grievances...some minor, some not so... I too am hoping that having Obama as the leader of our country will bring more than just "the first" to the position.. One of my pet peeves,and I confess...I don't understand it...at least not now, not in recent years.... why is it ok to have "Black Caucus" and "United Negro College" and why is it okay for whites to be made fun of too... What is the balance here? Is there no right or wrong anymore? I am proud that Obama is President, and I am happy that Hillary brought women a little closer...and I am ashamed of much of what went on in our previous history...but...I don't apologize for something that I had nothing to do with...just how I feel. We each come from different cultures, environments, and we each bring to the table what we were taught...good,bad or indifferent.. It is up to each of us...to be better, to be more kind, thoughtful, and forgiving... I hate the suffering that people have had to endure...but I will not be the person to be made guilty or feel that I was responsible... There are arguments that can be made on all sides of a spectrum...I prefer to just begin here...fresh...and do the best that I can...We are becoming a minority however, and we are losing jobs because of it, and we are not getting educations because of it, and so on...but...there comes a time when we have to be UNITED... and not just when it's politically correct!! Everyone has to do their share...and that means EVERYONE...regardless of color, race, religion, economic, financial, education, etc... or previous historical situations.. You are right too..about this....sometimes we just need to vent... feels good, and besides... we don't mean to harm anyone...it's our right...just as it's the right of everyone to speak their piece... I think the United States has a major guilt complex. maybe they should.They almost eradicated the Indians, Buffalo, wild horses, they enslaved the African they kidnapped to bring over here as slaves, they've interned god-fearing Japanese during WW11.

we've had a wonderful history of religious freedom, then whoever is the chose group of the time, discriminates against other groups. Example: I'm an Episcopalian, so i'm not denigrating anyone else's religion, but the Catholocis were picked on and untilJFK came into office, no catholics would have ever been voted into office.

This brings me to our latest American
"look how great I am" We've gone so far in oure quality laws (and granted they were needed) now everyone is afraid to hire the majority--who is quickly becoming a minority. i'm still not sure women have risen to the level of "we have to hire here because she's a woman." Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton just recently smashed the glass ceiling.

Now that Barack has broken through the color barrier, let's hope we can become a one -- an integrated society who hires because of qualifications, not because the company needs a certain amount of _____________________. Fill in the blanks.
