You sound like me. :) Thank you for the feedback, Dallas. And yes, the East Coast is more complex!
I read by picture conversion, meaning that I don't see the words in a book, but am actually immersed into the scene. As long as the scene is well described, I can see advantages to either setting, and as far as reading a story, I'm happy with a good location on any continent. I'd think the East Coast would be more fun to write, because it can be more complex.
