Linda, I haven't had much success at promoting and marketing, either. I once spent $2500 for an ad in TODAY in co-op with 11 other iUniverse.com writers, and made ONE sale. I don't even know if that came from the ad. Watch out for those who offer all kinds of promotional services; whatever they charge may not turn out to be any use at all. I did that, too, and made no noticeable sales as a result. I hate selling and shipping, too, like you. My latest gig is advertising on Craigslist. A seven-day ad is free and you can keep reposting. I can't tell yet if these have resulted in sales, not until next month, perhaps. It seems, since I began writing 25 years there, that there never has been a good time in the publishing industry, a good time for writers, that is. But now, publishing houses are really scared about the famous bottom line. Therefore, so are the agents. My experiences about the latter are another story. Best to you, Lucille Bellucci
