"Tell me what you think? Linda Law....."

Hi Linda:
You are right that very often we make assumption of another and thought that we know that person when in fact we don't.
Each of us are different individuals and we all live different lives, so obviously no life is of the same in experience as another.
However, your assumption was just an innocent quote which everyone under the sun had said at one time or another, and you were all supposed to have been having fun, I don't think the lady friend should take everything you say so seriously since obviously you were just joking when you said that. I know I would not be offended if I were in her place.
I'm sorry you have met a someone who was so serious and have caused you to cry. Next time when invited, just make an excuse not to go over there to her house because life is too short to have to watch what you say even when you're supposed to be joking and having fun.
Get together with some less serious, and fun loving friends who can cheer you up!
Good luck with your new job!!
Hugs,
Sandie Angel :o)
I sympathize and empathize with you, Linda. I've taken verbal abbuse as a newspaper reporter, and somewhat developed a thick skin to it although it's never pleasant. But it's worse when the words come from a friend or a relative. My inclination for a case like yours is to encourage you to keep the faith, go on ahead and live your life like you would have anyway, and wait for time and God to do whatever has to be done with your almost friend. Maybe she'll come to know she is choosing to lose more of life....Jerry
Sounds like your neighbor has "stuff" going on in her life, which have nothing to do with you. (I am the baby in the family and I was not offended by your remarks.)
Apparently, she did not care about your feelings, projecting that you hurt hers.
I have said something innocuous to church friends and got over-reactions that seemed very strange and unfair. It touched a weakness/failure in their life that no one could foresee at the time. It's about them, not you. Yes, they need our prayers.
Thanks for the trust in us to unload. You are not alone.
Susan
Miss "Shouter" was envious, can't you see it? She sees that you have everything. And worse, she knows you deserve it. At least, we all here at AD know. :)
Nice blog and my prayer can be added with yours for fellow poet and den brother Georg...

Excellent post, thank you for sharing I have said things without realizing I hurt a friend or a loved one with what I was saying, thank you for this blog

How odd! I wrote you this long message this morning about a similar situation in my life...where someone wouldn't/won't forgive me...and the effects it has had on my life... not knowing that you had experienced this very thing yesterday. WOW! Isn't it amazing how the Lord can inspire us to share experiences like that without knowing that the recipient needs to know that others can empathize...
It just never ceases to amaze me...
I understand that whole "trust" thing!
Hurrah, on the job front! I am sorry about the driving though. Can you take a bus instead so you don't have to drive?
Remember you are loved... :~)
