Erin I can relate, I have three books out, soon to be four, and I am still waiting to simply break even on the investments I have made, not that I was self published, but no matter how you are published you have to invest.

Hang in there, Erin. I know it's not a lot of comfort, but 99.9 percent of all writers are in the same boat.
You could write the next Mobey Dick and still be selling copies out of your trunk. We'll learn and get better.

Gosh I hear you! Don't despair. You're not alone in your angst! Keep trying and plugging away. And network with the rest of us authors-unknown. We don't mind namedropping or bookdropping on our blogs about you or your book. At least I don't.

Well ok, if you insist, but I already have a copy!! In marketing my own book, I've found that crying helps a lot. Who could resist a grown woman with tears streaming down her face, holding out her published book, her baby? <grin> Hang in there, you'll have your day in the sun --or was that the rain??
