Nachito Herrera “When I Left Cuba” repertoire stands as a piano testament to Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”

The Dakota Saturday night was a veritable belated St Valentine’s Day massacre at the piano keyboards by Hacinto Herrera. The left hand syncopation was a grand compliment to the more emotional minor key pieces in the program. 

The Nachito Herrera piano performance was 

Good News and a grand compliment to the Minnesota Film Fest. The  Film Festival on February 21 was well attended and highly rated. Ironically, Mary Ann ODougherty, Mandala, the Band, was leader in the formation of the Minnesota Guitar Society, which came out of RiverPlace which featured the Forbidden Shore. There were several Mandala themes in the Forbidden Shore movie and in the piano performance of Nachito Herrera. Connect these performances with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Congratulations on the success of this  RiverPlace Film, Forbidden Shores. 

February 25,is the 10th anniversary of Mary Ann’s death. Mandala is her band. She is a founder of the Guitar Society of Minnesota. Align  the counterpoints in music and film to Nachito Herrera’s spectacular piano performance. Mary Ann ODougherty’s CD, Water Color of Brazil,  was released at the Dakota in Bandana Square.
