Vanishing Georgia - On the Village at Thomaston Mills
A mill job in Thomaston in the 1940s and '50s meant relief from the tedium of sharecropping and a new and exciting way of life "on the village."

This article is my personal account of life on the Old Mill Village in Thomaston, Georgia in the 40s and 50s when my family left a share cropping farm in Edison, Ga and my dad took a mill job in Thomaston, Ga searching for a better life for he, mom and the family.
