Cheryl Zemke was the guest at Maybury School in Detroit, Michigan for their Career Day. During the event a number of individuals from different fields were asked to speak with students for the day. Zemke, being a newly published author, was asked to speak about what it takes to get a book published. "It was a wonderful experience, " Zemke said, "for both the students and myself." Cheryl did a power-point presentation to the class, showing some of the things that inspired her and that showed some of the characters in her novel.

At the end of the session, many students had questions for her. She passed out autographed copies of some characters from the book. The students seemed to really enjoy taking a piece of her creation home with them.
