Mia, the book’s main storyteller, explains her adventures and some anecdotes. Kristie’s passion for rescuing pups encouraged her to write this children’s book with the hopes to encourage future generations to consider rescuing animals and spreading the kindness and help to shelters. Kristie talks about growing up on a farm in Missouri and her history of adopting a broad range of animals including many horses. Kristie tells us some great information about finding a rescue dog  as well as care tips of a shelter dog.
