Type or Paste your work here... The Hellgate Breezes, a monthly newsletter for the Hellgate Mineral Society, centered in Missoula, Montana, has published my original poem, "Pillar Falls". This rock club bulletin usually contains scientific and exploratory articlesregarding rockhounding, faceting precious stones, and local field trips. Having extra space to fill, the editor included my submission partly because the poem mentions different types of rocks. This gem club is a member of the Montana State Council, Northwest Federation, and American Federation. PILLAR FALLS
Snake River
Pillar Falls along flat volcanic rocks each stack sandy and majestic.
Once a little fox stood aloft on the highest boulder, bold and trembling not knowing if he might dive to his death.
He jumped gingerly with a long high yelp. He fell then as he would fall now, his pink parachute opening halfway down with a flutter flip flap.
An indigo butterfly streaked away when the little fox landed on sandstone, . . . bed of doubt.
How many sides each one of us has, when forced to choose how much by chance.
Once a little fox stood aloft his bottle-brush tail red as desert paintbrush.
He did not dive to death he fell then as he would fall now.
