The second successful year of Qatar summer wonder is to be hosted form Today, 9th    July 2003, with spectacular   opening ceremony at Qatar stadium at 6.30 PM, to mark a month long activities. We promise a lot of new idea’s regarding the entertainment, culture and education said Tariq Al-Jaidha, the acting manager of the Qatar Summer Wonder. (QSW)

Qatar Tourism Authority, the official organisers of the activity, QSW, promised an entertainment and   fun for the entire community, keeping in mind, the diverse crowed of residents who are in Qatar. A month long activities is planed with such high quality events for the entire family, there is will be no room for any one to be idle, in this summer said the QTA CEO Mr. Fed Van Eijk. QSW has organized activities and experiences’, including shopping bonanza’s with sales, gifts and discounts.

The opening ceremony should give the confidence to the people that the QSW has improved from last year, since they have organized a spectacular feast for the eyes.  The CEO, Mr. Van Eijk, was enthusiastic about the opening ceremony,” The stadium will be filled with spectators, and the event will be different and refreshing”. The entry to the stadium for the public is absolutely Free. The fireworks, has been organized to start at the stadium which will continue in other locations all over the Doha and will end in the Palm tree island. The star attraction of the opening ceremony will be the mascot “Bshara”, who will host the events, which has been revamped as a fancy teenager. Bshara, will have his own voice this year, and will be introducing verities of events, venues   participants outlets during 80 minutes extravaganza, both in Arabic and in English as well.

Tariq Al-Jaidha, explained the verity of entertainments that is in store for the public, in the next few glorious weeks, which consists of Heritage Villages form Syria and Egypt, who will offer, life style experience, Folklores and traditional music and dances of the relevant countries. Children will have the most memorable experiences with the “Q-Tel Internet city”. These are some of few entertainments that’s in store for the families and residence of Qatar, which will be preformed by, not less than 300 entertainers from around the world. Obviously the local eccomeny has its own benefit’s, with a large number of out lets restaurants, coffee shops and hotels participating in the, summer promotions and special events. ”QSW has brought together a feeling of unity and togetherness, with various business organization pledging their encouragement and support, like the Qatar Airways, Qatar Nationals Bank, Doha Bank, Q-Tel, National Council for Culture Arts and Heritage, Doha Asian Games Organizers, Hotels Clubs, different Sports Federations and lot’s other eminent business organizations.

The main activity area will the prominent places like the City Center, The Landmark Mall,The Mall, Hyatt Plaza and  Lulu Hyper markets, besides Qatar International Exhibition Center. There will be Weekly Draws offering prize money up QR 75,000, for any one who spends not less than Qr.100 in any participating out lets.

The “Cinema Wonder” will be an added attraction to an already colorful, experience, to the public, with on the spot “Scratch and Win Promotions”. During the one-month, long events, Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company will host Films, in not less than three languages, and in Arabic as well. The prizes will include Television sets Video CD’s, Audio Cassettes and

 33 film tickets each day, said, Mr. Abdulrahman Mohsen Al-Mokadem, the GM of th Qatar Film Distribution company. The customers receives free Pepsi and chips, from which the Pepsi offering, its own promotions and prizes. Besides, that, there is a raffle coupon draw, offered by the Qatar Tourism Authority for every costumer, who spend QR.100.The customers will have to pay QR.10 only, for all classes and Doha Cinema will have four screening and Gulf Cinema has 6 Screenings as well.  Landmark and Mall Cinema also has six shows, each.

Along with the promotions, the QFDC has   magnificent line of, latest movies from English, Hindi Malayalam and Arabic movies. The Hollywood line up consists of X-Men, Charlie’s Angles the Full Throttle, Dare Devils, How to loose a Guy in 10 days, and I-Spy. The Bollywood also has incompetent movies like Boot, and Andaaz. Malayalam hits include the latest release’s, like Chronic Bachelor, Thilakkam, Vellithira and Kasthooriman.Ten Arabic Films will also be screened and also Four   children’s plays will be staged. The QFDC is   renovating the cafeterias in the cinema halls, in order to provide more, entertainments for the public.
