HOUSTON, TX--Gal in Sky Publishing Company announced today that its latest offering, Patchwork and Ornament: A Woman's Journey of Life, Love, and Art by Jeanette Feldman has been named winner of the Memoir Category, 2010 National Indie Excellence Awards.

 

Patchwork and Ornament includes essays, stories, poetry, and full-color images of Ms. Feldman's art. Taken from her journals and creative writings found after her death, Patchwork and Ornament reflects on life during the Great Depression, family, travel, art, and aging. Lovingly edited by her daughter-in-law, Nadine Galinsky Feldman, Patchwork and Ornament was originally meant for family only. "The more I worked on it, the more I realized that other people could be moved by Jenny's words," Galinsky Feldman says. "Jenny wrote with honesty and passion about her dreams, her disappointments, her joys, and her struggles. It's a book that anyone can relate to, whether or not they are fine artists."
