Author Feather Schwartz Foster describes a wide range of hints in a 3-part series about promoting book sales by lecture.
GLENDALE, CA - The board of editors at Long Story Short has named New Jersey author Feather Schwartz Foster’s 3-part article, entitled “The Lecture Experience: Part I” as its Story of the Month for February, 2005. Parts II and III will be discussed in subsequent issues of the site’s monthly newsletter, as well as appear on its website.
“The Lecture Experience” was conceived following more than 50 different lectures the author gave to a broad range of NJ audiences during the past year, to discuss her recent book, “LADIES: A Conjecture of Personalities.”
According to Ms. Foster, “I’ve learned a wealth of information – handy hints, what to do, what not to do – during all these talks I have given about the ‘old First Ladies’ – Martha Washington thru Mamie Eisenhower. I thought the experiences might provide some benefit to other authors who promote their books via book signings and personal appearances.”
The web site, www.alongstoryshort.net is edited by Denise Cassino, Linda Barnett-Johnson, Susan Scott and Gloria Pimentel, and features fine writing from fiction and poetry to essays and, unlike many journals, also offers critiques from their submission committee. Their goal is to showcase, promote and advance the work of women writers.
Author Feather Schwartz Foster has been an "amateur" presidential historian for three decades. Following a long career in advertising and having written a score of children's musical shows, she has decided to draw on her thousand-volume personal presidential library and her love of history by penning, "LADIES: A Conjecture..." She has made numerous appearances in the metro-NJ area discussing her book, and may be reached through her webpage at www.authorsden.com/featherschwartzfoster. Her second book, "Garfield's Train" will be published in 2005.
"LADIES: A Conjecture of Personalities" is 265 pages, published by PublishAmerica of Baltimore, MD, ISBN: 1-59286-361-2, and is available on online book retailers.
