Ama, Louisiana Writer Published in Book About Faith

Living By Faith to be released August 1, 2004

July 30, 2004—Vanessa Alexander Johnson, a writer from Ama has been published in a new book entitled Living By Faith published by Obadiah Press, a Christian publishing house located in Merrill, Wisconsin.  Johnson’s entry entitled “Faith In Healing” was given an Honorable Mention in the 2002 Obadiah Press Annual Writing Contest and selected for inclusion in the book along with 99 other award-winning entries.  Living By Faith will be officially released on August 1, 2004.

“We’re really excited about the release of Living By Faith,” says Tina L. Miller, Editor in Chief at Obadiah Press. “This book is a dream-come-true for many aspiring authors who have never been published before and is the culmination of more than two years of work.  Many of the essays are personal experiences and most are very personal to the authors who wrote them.  Some of the stories will literally bring readers to tears.”

Johnson is the 911 Communications Supervisor for St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.  In addition to this piece, Johnson has five (5) letters that have been accepted for publication in the Celebrations Anthology, 2004 and a poem, “What Foods Would Have Made You Grow,” is included in an Anthology “Down The Cereal Aisle,” by Daniel’s House Publications, 2004. Johnson has penned her first non-fiction book, “When Death Comes A Knockin’,” a self-help inspirational book about loss and the grief process. An agent and a publisher as of this writing are reviewing the book.

Johnson is excited to be among the writers whose work was selected for publication in the upcoming anthology.  “It is an awesome feeling to see your labor of love included with the other great writers in this anthology,” Johnson says.  Johnson can be reached through her Website at Click here for more information about the anthology, or to request an autographed copy.

Living By Faith is already available direct from the publisher and will soon be available through Amazon.com and other venues, as well.  To order Living By Faith (ISBN 0-9713266-2-2, 416 pages, $24.95 + $3.00 s/h per copy U.S.), call toll free 1-866-536-3167.
