I've been a fan of Apple computers for a long time, so when Smashwords announced a distribution deal with Apple to ship approved eBooks to the iBooks store for the iPad's launch day, I had to be part of it. I was in the middle of formatting my book for the Smashwords Premium Catalogue when I received the notification, which left me with three days to complete the formatting, upload the book, check the conversion, and then re-upload following the correction of any issues. Now, I still have to work a day job, so that wasn't a lot of time...

I worked into the night for two days, and on the third I delayed leaving on an Easter weekend trip for a couple of hours to fix some issues, but upon seeing a screenshot of Make a Move on the iPad, it was all worth it. The book looks amazing, and I'm so proud to be part of this technology milestone.

It still remains to be seen if the iPad is going to have the predicted impact on eBook publishing, but I'm now a part of this event, and I'm as excited as everyone to see what happens next.
