A lot has happened since I first visited the Den back in 2001. At the time, I was working on a novel entitled "Offspring." Actually, the first draft had been completed years earlier, and stashed in a cardboard box, beneath the bed. But that's another story. I came to the Den in search of knowledge regarding the publishing industry.
In what now seems an incredibly fast and fortunate chain of events, I sold Offspring to St. Martin's Press (SMP. The book will debut in Oct. 2006.
Furthermore, I recently signed with SMP for two additional novels, completing the Offspring trilogy. Much thanks goes to my friend and mentor Lou Aronica, my agent, the "Literary Lion" Peter Miller, and Peter's remarkable side-kick and wunnder-agent in her own right, Kelly Skillen.
To you, the aspiring novelist, I say keep your butt in the chair and write, write, write. Fortune favors not only the bold, but the diligent as well.
