The Military Writers Society of America has announced their 2004 writing awards. Gold Medal Awards are given to books that are a superior example of their genre.

My book, River of Memories: An Appalachian Boyhood, was awarded a gold medal in the area of "Non-Fiction - Personal Memoirs.
