Debra Chapoton offers a phenomenal tension, because any time anything is possible
This book captivated me from beginning to end. A violent and extremely appealing suction is created by time and changing perspectives. I felt trapped in a bubble, because in every chapter anything was possible. The variables seem endless and together with the characters the action switched between a very distant past, a present, the recent past, and even the future. However, I never had it confused or was overwhelmed.
SOMMERFALLE (Edge of Escape) offered insight into the thought worlds of different characters who grow up together yet are in separate worlds. There is a cat and mouse game between the characters. There are no clichés, no formulaic story lines. It is well thought out, yet simple and effective. The author breaks away from stereotypical patterns, reverses roles, creates sympathies and antipathies, and constantly adds additional components.
I was intoxicated with SOMMERFALLE (in English, "Edge of Escape"). I guarantee you’ll find insanely great characters, because they have both beautiful and ugly traits and thus authenticity. Furthermore, I was thrilled with the scary good content that is conspicuous by its variety, excitement, speed (!) and perfect revelation. And finally I got high on parallels, deep-rooted involvement and an overall package that offers much more than the publisher’s blurb suggested.
