If you have a chance over the next two weekends, go tot the NH Ren Faire in Kingston. Local poet Ed Pacht wikll be reciti9ng poems and short stories as Bro. Sylvanus of the Greeenfriars, a travelling bard.

May 10 Chicago Poetry off the Shelf: Ars Poetica: Art Song 7:00PM Poetry Foundation 61 W. Superior This event is free on a first come, first served basis. Doors open 30 minutes before a program. Programs typically last one hour. Simply put, an art song is poetry set to music. Ars Poetica brings together contemporary poets, composers, and musicians for an evening of art song. The concert will feature music and words by up-and-coming artists, including Chicago composer Brian Baxter’s interpretation of poetry by 2012 Ruth Lilly Fellow Richie Hofmann, as well as several other composer-poet collaborations. String quartet Chicago Q Ensemble, a rising star in Chicago’s chamber music scene, will perform.
