Bonus Poem:
Squandered Time

It was lovely just at that moment!
The larch was dressed in green
And on the birches the abundance of little leaves
Broke out of the brown wrapping.

A first song, a resonant sound
Of longing passed through the forest,
The breath of the white anemones
Softly enveloped the tops of the beech trees.

Everywhere a golden fragrance,
A blessed becoming in the air,
In the ground, a secret blooming and sprouting,
A wistful awakening and dozing off.

It was springtime in us also,
And our hearts expanded,
Half in joy, half in fear,
To receive the message of spring.

And yet--we didn't find the words!
Held in time and place by bashfulness,
The moment passed, the dream came to an end,
You kissed my hands as you left.
