Something personal:
The other day, my wife was watching Duel on Cable ( I told her the guy who wrote it was a favorite of mine ,and that he’d died years ago/ WRONG! ); when I was in elementary school a friend turned me on to the scholastics books offering of Rod Serling’s Twilight zone books.-I can’t find any, off hand, in my tubs of books or on my shelves(paperbacks have never been intended to be anything but a temporary convenience). Serling’s books didn’t give credit to the writers- something I came to understand was that writers wrote for money-they got paid,, sometimes uncredited!
Then came an unknown director ( Stephen Spielberg) and “Duel- man vs machine…Then much later “Somewhere in Time’ with Chris Reeves and Jane Seymour… Hell House ,” I Am Legion” and a bunch of young Mathesons working movies with Dante , Coppola, … Somewhere in a University coarse on cinema and scriptwriting ,everyday, someone is speaking his name …
