July 19 Concord NH, “Open Mic Night for Teens” featuring poetry readings . State House Plaza . 7:00 – 8:00pm Each registered participant who recites a poem at the “Open Mic Night” will receive a Gift Certificate to a Concord merchant. Also invited to recite are area high school students who participated in the Poetry Out Loud program this year. Each participant will be allowed to present for no more than three (3) minutes and may be invited to read a second poem, time permitting. The physical world itself is a fair thing
For who has eyes to see or ears to hear.
To--day I fled on my new freedom's wind,
With the first swallows of the parting year,
Southwards from England. At the Folkestone pier
I left the burden of my sins behind,
Noting how gay the noon was, and how clear
The tide's fresh laughter rising to no wind.
A hundred souls of men there with my own
Smiled in that sunshine. 'Tis a little measure

I know the gentle breeze that clears the hills,
waking the flowers in that shadowy wood,
by its soft breath, through which my pain
and my fame must both increase together.

I flee from my sweet native Tuscan air
to find where my weary heart can rest:
I seek my sun that I hope to see today,
to light my dark and troubled thoughts.

It grants such sweetness that Love
brings me back to it with force:
