I am thankful for so much I could write a book about it and never get it done. A few of the top things are my family, health, and abilties.
Those sound normal and what everyone is thankful for, so I don't take them for granted.
I will also say that I'm thankful that, for whatever reason, daily instances trigger my imagination. The snore of a dog, the flicker of a gas fire, or a snow covered branch.
Here's what they make me think of... Snoring dog: a train rumbling through a dark tunnel. Gas fire: Candles dripping hot wax down a castle wall. Add the snow covered branch: He's searching for a clue as the hand of the dead slips from it's resting spot and tickles his back.
Now, isn't that the way to get the imagination going to start a novel? Needs a lot of work, but I've set the scene, created a character, and it leads me to believe there's a suspenseful turn nearby.
Have a grand Thanksgiving and be thankful for everything!
