A few years back I decided to throw in the towel on my writing & publishing goals and allowed my previous publications to go out of print. I also decided to close down my Online Fiction Magazine (Speculative Fiction Centre) which I co-edited with my friend and fellow writer Lee Garrett. I had previously published a short story collection titled "Mind Monsters"  also an Anthology for the Speculative Fiction Centre titled "Horizons".  Both published under a POD (Lulu).  In hindsight I know my frustration grew because despite all my best efforts at promoting & publishing what I believed to be excellent writing, from authors much more gifted than I, the financial reward just never materialized.  I felt I was just wasting my time & money on a pipe dream that was never going to happen.  Note: I've recently had a change of heart and decided to resurrect my previous short story collection under a different title and publisher. I realize now,  I forgot the reason why, I began writing in the first place. It was not only theraputic but also a way of sharing my unique perspective of the world and the people and things in it. It was fun until I tried to make a job out of it, commercialize it and beat it to death with so much promotional drama!  So what if nothing I write ever makes the New York Times best sellers list. Or if I never make a dime from my copy. It's enough to know after I'm gone something of me will be left behind to show that I was here, I did something, I expierence life and wrote about it...that's enough for me this time around. Perhaps, this narrative would have been better placed under a blog heading rather than news heading?  Anyways, having shared all the above I have published my Novella "The Sparrow's Song"  & Short Story Collection, "Asylum Tales: Seven Short Stories, through Amazon with Print Versions available through CreateSpace and Digital Kindle Versions also available. These titles may be checked out and read for free if your interested. Going forward in addition to my other passion, "Art & Painting" I intend to also pursue my writing once again.
