As is the custom here and throughout Southeast Asia, there is a ban on the sale of alcohol beginning at 6PM on election eve and through to 6PM on election day. I suppose that the idea behind this policy is to ensure that the general public is relatively sober minded when casting votes for politicians who will represent & support their interests...the interests of the general public. Not certain about this but, my guess is that such a policy does not exist in the U.S. It's hard to believe that the current crop of American politicians were elected by a majority of rational, clear thinking citizens. The political landscape in the U.S. is riddled with thieving & incompetent megalomaniacs. Of course, on the upside, Americans can always excuse their pathetic voting record by suggesting that they were drunk at the time.
From the land of the milked and honeyed here’s a few political faux pas and a bit of attitude exposed to the harsh light of a Canadian who actually has their own opinion.
