Historical Fiction
I recently was on staff at a Vets Journey Home retreat for a weekend where I proudly welcomed home veterans from combat and watched many of them heal.

Click here is a unique weekend program for veterans, designed to help heal the emotional wounds of military service. The non-profit was originally created in 1989 specifically committed to giving VietNam veterans the Welcome Home they deserved. Recognizing that war’s effects impact all soldiers at all times, in 2005 the program expanded to include all veterans. Today, the leaders, Gene McMahon and Patricia Clason, several instructors, and a large community of volunteers, both veteran and civilian, come together to give something back to those who risked their lives to serve our country.

April 20-22, 2012, in Mt. Airy, Md., was the latest VJH retreat where soldiers gathered to share, remember, listen to one another and the staff, and ultimately heal.

This is the organization  I have chosen to contribute a portiion of sales from my novel Prelude to Reveille:  A Vietnam Awakening.  I had been searching for a non-profit group that really rolls up its sleeves and gets in there to help veterans.  The staff, almost all volunteers, traveled at their own expense to the center from homes as far away as California, Florida, and Canada.

So many veterans suffer from PTSD, many for decades after serving in combat.   VJH needs support to reach out to these vets.  For more information, see my site listed below.
