A Maine Humanities grant ws awarded to We Are Women of Peace which provides for a book about women refugees of war to dialogue with their grandchildren about their choice to become peace
advocates.
Rosalie Deer Heart and Peg Brown were awarded a grant on December 23, 2011 from the Maine Humanities Council to support their interviewing of women refugees of war to tell their stories of how they chose peace over violence, resignation, or unforgiveness. A percentage of the profits from the book and film will be returned to the women's native countries for education and peace building activities.
