Although Legacy of the Higlands is a suspense novel with romantic overtones, Scottish nationalism drives much of the action and forms the heart of a contemporary tale of how a murder in present day Boston is tied to a vow made by the victim's ancestor in 1320 Scotland.

This week the issue is front and center in the U.K. and is even on the cover of TIME magazine, which makes the novel especially relevant.
